Police are investigating after a man was stabbed outside a function at St Marys. About 11.15pm on Friday, police were called to the premises on Queen St after reports of a brawl. Police arrived to find a 25-year-old man with a stab wound to his arm, and a puncture wound to his abdomen. He was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life threatening. Despite a large amount of people in the area at the time, no witnesses have come forward to police. At this stage, the offender has only been described a male, possibly wearing a white singlet. Police are appealing for witnesses after a Whalan home was shot at on Thursday night. Officers were called to a home on Omati St, Whalan, about 11pm after a number of shots were fired at a house. There were five adults in the house at the time but no one was injured. A 63year-old man was later treated by paramedics for shock. Mt Druitt police are investigating the incident. At this stage, the offenders have only been described as a group of males wearing dark clothing. Police believe the shooting was targeted and not random.
DRUITT A 48-year-old Lethbridge Park man has been arrested for alleged shoplifting at Westfield Mt Druitt. About 2pm on Monday, the man entered a supermarket within the shopping complex and was seen by a loss prevention officer to allegedly remove a number of items from display shelves within the store, concealing them and walking out without paying. The man faces a possible fine as investigations continue.
Police are investigating a car fire at Glendenning. On Sunday, a 33year-old woman parked her car in the driveway of her Woodley Crescent home when she was woken by a dog barking about midnight. She looked out her window to see her car alight. Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze.
Mt Druitt police have seized items believed to have been stolen from a home at Glendenning. About 4.45pm on Wednesday police raided a Samantha Crescent home due to an ongoing investigation into a number of aggravated break and enter and fraud incidents. Investigations continue.
Police have arrested a Blackett man, 21, after he was allegedly found with drugs and a knife. About 11.30pm on Wednesday, police stopped a car on Keesing Crescent, when it is alleged the man tried to run. Police searched him and allegedly found a small bag containing a crystal substance believed to be methylamphetamine. Officers will also allege they found a knife in the man’s pocket. MINCHINBURY Police are investigating following a single-vehicle crash in Minchinbury on Sunday night. About 6.20pm, emergency services were called to Sargents Rd following reports a Ford had crashed into a pedestrian bridge before catching on fire. A man, aged 44, was freed from the vehicle and helped by paramedics. He was the only occupant of the car. He was taken to Westmead Hospital, suffering leg and arm injuries, before being transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital. Fire and Rescue NSW crews extinguished the fire. Mt Druitt police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward by phoning Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
