Provide the right help
RE: “School out for youths”, (Mt Druitt-St Marys Standard, October 7).
Stopping parents’ payments doesn’t help the child.
Some kids come from troubled and complex households.
Perhaps more support for the child (would help). Some don’t sleep well, eat well or have the family support – the list goes on.
Government-funded shuttle ser- vices and youth workers working alongside teachers and parents (could also help).
Our community needs to show these kids we care. It takes a village to raise a child. KEL CAMERON,
