EXERCISE CREATIVITY

It’s easy to create your own She Shed, Tara Dennis says. And it doesn’t have to be expensive. “Bunnings have some amazing shed options available,” she says “Otherwise, consider revamping a caravan, campervan or even a Kombi. Shipping container conversions are all the rage. Just make sure whatever you choose has good ventilation and insulation.” Dennis suggests choosing a style that reflects how you want to feel in that space. “Create a mood board, either physical or on Pinterest, and incorporate all elements you’re dreaming of. Remember to pay attention to the decorating, don’t skimp just because it’s not considered a ‘main’ room. Storage is a must, keep clutter to minimum. Art on the walls makes a place welcoming as do fresh flowers and candles.” Blending old and new furniture will help the place feel more lived in and save money. “Revamp things you may already have like a bookcase, desk or drawers,” Dennis says. Paint is an affordable and fast way to get a new look. “Consider wallpaper or a wall of mirrors to double the space.” Lighting needs to be good. Consider a variety of sources including pendant, task and lamp lighting. Plan it well and your She Shed can be the space of your dreams,” Dennis says.
