NIGHT racing returns to Canterbury Park on Friday with a seven-race program.

Racing under lights is a spectacular sight and Canterbury lends itself to night racing given the proximity of the crowd to the track.

There are only four night meetings this season, one a month through to January.

The Friday night meeting at Canterbury coincides with the Group 1 Manikato Stakes program at Moonee Valley.

Canterbury isn’t used often for Saturday meetings but the Australian Turf Club has programmed two meetings at the popular venue on November 7 and January 9. TRACK STAYS GOOD ROYAL Randwick has its fourth consecutive Sydney Saturday this weekend.

The Australian Turf Club’s premier racetrack has raced superbly during the spring carnival with little evidence of track bias. THIS WEEK’S TIP FOLLOW Sydney’s champion apprentice Winona Costin, who has been riding in brilliant form in recent weeks.
