In a twist this Halloween
Mt Druitt’s Jade Twist is gearing up to scare the daylights out of people – in more ways than one – at the Australian Museum on Friday night.
MT Druitt’s Jade Twist has been bending over backwards for the past 20 years.
The 24-year-old is a contortionist, after getting into acrobatics and then contortionism at just four years old.
Although her natural flexibility helps, Miss Twist, who works under her stage name, said being a contortionist took a lot of practise.
“I train for half an hour to an hour a day, but if I miss a day I can tell — my muscles remember if I have taken time off,” Miss Twist said.
Her first solo performance was at St Marys Village Centre when she was just 10.
Miss Twist said she looked back on this performance fondly.
“This has been my most memorable performance to date — performing in my home town and my first show by myself was some- thing special,” she said. This weekend, Miss Twist will perform at the Jurassic Lounge at the Australian Museum on Friday, as part of its Halloween party which will feature live roaming reptiles, stick insects, a silent disco and terrifying live performances.
Tickets for the Halloween Party start from $19 and are available from jurrassiclounge.com
