SES heroes arrive on TV
TREGEAR resident Lalomilo Tauveve is set to feature in a television series called which premieres this Saturday on Channel 10.
The six-week series looks behind the scenes of the tireless work of NSW SES volunteers.
Mr Tauveve, who is part of the Mt Druitt NSW SES Unit, said he was surprised to stumble across cameras when his crew responded to calls for help during the freak storms which hit the area in April.
“I haven’t exactly got a head for TV but I suppose it (the show) will be a good way for the community to see what we do,” Mr Tauveve, a father of four, said.
“Most people are well aware of the dangers posed by severe weather and are prepared, but there are still many who need to do more to prepare for storms,” he said.
The launch of the TV series comes as the NSW SES and NRMA Insurance urge residents to get ready for another busy storm season.
“Storm season predominantly occurs between October and March, but dangerous weather can occur at any time of the year,” NSW SES Commissioner Adam Dent said.
