Waller prepared to smash through 200 wins

Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - SPORT - Ray Thomas

CHRIS Waller, Sydney’s allconquering trainer, could do the unthinkable and smash the 200-win barrier this season.

With the 2015-16 season only three months old, Waller has already prepared more than 50 Sydney winners. Waller, who is already certain to claim his sixth consecutive premiership at season’s end in July, is well ahead of record pace as he chases down the all-time record of 167.5 Sydney wins he prepared in the 2012-13 season.

SYDNEY Saturday racing returns to Rosehill Gardens for the first time in a month this weekend, coinciding with the prestigious Derby Day meeting at Flemington.

The biggest Sydney attendance so far this season of just over 20,000 attended the Epsom Day meeting on Saturday, October 3 but this figure should be eclipsed when Randwick races on Melbourne Cup Day - November 3.

MY tip for this weekend is to follow in-form jockey Tim Clark, who is attracting rides from all the major stables.
