ROADS in Erskine Park and St Clair will benefit from the State Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan.

Penrith Council has been granted $1.1 million under the package for a traffic safe- ty and scoping study to identify issues along Erskine Park Rd and The Northern Rd.

The council aims to upgrade intersections along Erskine Park Rd at Bennett Rd, Peppertree Drive, Coo- nawarra Drive and Explorers Way before the opening of the Western Sydney airport.

The upgrades include two signalised intersections on Bennett Rd and Explorers Way, and two new seagull intersections at Coonawarra and Peppertree drives.

Under the upgrades, Erskine Park Rd, between Bennett Rd and Peppertree Drive, would also be widened to four lanes with a shared path.

A council spokesman said: “If funding is successful, the work would help make travel times more reliable, reduce congestion, make the roads safer and support future jobs and residential growth.”
