PCYC set for debut festival
FAMILY FUN FUNDRAISER HAS SPIRIT OF HOPE
AN EXCITED buzz has taken over at Mt Druitt PCYC as volunteers and management prepare to host the centre’s first festival.
Complete with games, rides, stalls and raffles, the Festival Of Hope will run at the Shalvey base on Saturday from 10am-4pm, raising money for the ongoing costs of the centre’s various outreach programs.
PCYC manager Lance Chaloner said the day was also a way to bring the community together for some “great family fun”.

One of the programs the festival could help fund is a planned hub of medical, financial and social support services such as drug and alcohol councillors and support for domestic violence victims.
Mr Chaloner said the programs, such as the Wednesday free food stalls, were already proving successful.
“Every time we meet the group keeps growing, which means we are reaching people,” he said.
