Where can decorators use chalkboard? The kitchen: Make one wall stand out by painting it in chalkboard colours. If you prefer to start small, add a little bit of chalkboard paint inside cabinets. In rooms: Chalkboard paint can be used in a variety of ways — paint a piece then frame, paint walls and doors. Great in laundry rooms and an ideal way to remind kids of their schedules before they head out the door. Children’s room: Kids are going to draw on the walls so they might as well have somewhere they can draw without getting into trouble. Living room: Paint one or two walls, or add a chalkboard wallpaper; buy cushions with chalkboard panels — that way you can keep changing the message in the space. Take it outdoors: Paint flower pots as a fun way to label the plants. Or use chalkboard paint on any outdoor furniture. Garden sculptures can be painted in interesting colours.
