HALF a million record sales don’t lie – Adam Harvey is definitely one of Australia’s most popular country music stars.

Harvey’s career has spanned almost 20 years and has included many a gold and platinum album, making his show one not to miss.

The eight-time Golden Guitar-winner starts his 2015 tour at Rooty Hill on Saturday, November 14.

Rooty Hill residents are no strangers to country music, with Total Country being held at Rooty Hill RSL earlier this year, and fans will enjoy another quality performance from the bona fide star.

Harvey said he was excited and nervous about the upcoming show.

“The pressure is on at Rooty Hill,” he said. “There are so many country music fans out that way,” he said.

Fans can expect a mix of classics as well as some new music from Harvey’s Backyard Sessions album, which will be released on November 20. Recorded in Harvey’s own bar on the Central Coast, it delivers real sounds and no auto tune. And Harvey’s own dog even makes an appearance.

“I have a lot of people who come up to me and say, ‘God, I’d love to spend a night in that bar’,” he said.

“I started to think ‘Why don’t we try and take a bit of that bar atmosphere and bring the bar to them?’.”

Harvey has gone above and beyond with the new album to ensure it has something for everyone.

“Fans kept asking for a few tearjerking heartbreaking songs, as well as a few party songs,” he said.

“So this album will have it all, plus a bit of typical country stuff.”
