“I’ll ad­mit, th­ese first few days have been pretty tough. The fit­ness reg­i­men is up on (the) pre­vi­ous sea­son, so this is a chal­lenge.

“I have re­alised early on that I have to pack on my size, pack on my strength and learn my tech­nique to make it dif­fi­cult for the rest of the boys.”

How­ever, the 25-year-old trans­fer was not the only re­cent de­ci­sion for the Pen­rith Pan­thers, with the in­tro­duc­tion of new coach An­thony Grif­fin.

“Ev­ery­one is in the deep end. Ev­ery­one wants to im­press our new coach and no­body is safe,” Hall said.

“There is no ex­pec­ta­tion yet – that is what the team as a whole have to build with a new coach.

“Ev­ery­one is in the same boat, which is the per­fect start.”

The new re­cruit’s on-field po­si­tion won’t be the only se­lec­tion de­cided be­fore the 2016 sea­son starts, with ev­ery player’s abil­ity, strength and speed un­der the mi­cro­scope.
