Aus­tralia’s largest tour­ing cir­cus pro­duc­tion Great Euro Cir­cus has set up in Pen­rith. The show fea­tures ex­treme stunts in­clud­ing Aus­trala­sia’s only tour­ing Hu­man Can­non­ball, Felix the Strong­man, The Globe of Death and FMX stunts by the Freestyle Kings. There will also be ac­ro­bat­ics, horses and the il­lu­sion and spirit of the Quick-Change. CLEAN UP PLUMP­TON RE­SERVE

Com­mu­nity-minded res­i­dents are in­vited to a clean up day at Plump­ton Re­serve. Par­tic­i­pants will help tidy up the area, and there will be an ed­u­ca­tional dis­play of dog and duck is­sues, weed­ing of bush gar­dens, and in­for­ma­tion about how res­i­dents can adopt a park. GET READY FOR CHRIST­MAS

Crafty res­i­dents should head to a Black­town Coun­cil work­shop which will see peo­ple learn how to turn old plates and crock­ery into cake stands in a pre-Christ­mas up­cy­cling crock­ery work­shop. Film buffs should head to Max Web­ber Li­brary for a screen­ing of The Great Beauty. The movie, rated MA15+, takes view­ers on a jour­ney through hid­den ar­eas of con­tem­po­rary Rome de­nied to most tourists. Go on a jour­ney through the splen­dour and deca­dence of a Fellini-es­que car­ni­val of Rome’s pri­vate apart­ments and pub­lic build­ings in­hab­ited by the idle rich and their acolytes.
