AIRPORT LINK SPECULATION
PENRITH Council has welcomed news the Western Sydney airport will be “rail ready” when it opens in 2025.
The State and Federal governments have announced they would look at a new rail network for the west plus priority growth and land release areas.
A 12-month scoping study is set to explore funding options and preferred routes.
It is expected that major hubs such as Campbelltown, Liverpool and Penrith would be linked.
The Federal Government has confirmed it wants the second airport to be “rail ready” when it opens in 2025.
