Trees cause damage

Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - FEEDBACK -

RE: “Outrage over tree removal,” ( Mt Druitt-St Marys Standard, November 11).

The trees are not the only good thing about Queen St.

There is an abundance of awardwinning businesses located on Queen St.

The trees (however nice they may look) cause shop owners a lot of hassle getting their gutters unblocked due to the fallen leaves.

I have also witnessed several pedestrians fall on the uneven pavers surrounding the overgrown tree bases, some causing serious damage to elderly citizens where ambulances had to be called.

There is a full streetscape plan which outlines all the changes. This can be viewed on Penrith Council’s website.

This upgrade is great in my books.
