FESTIVE EVENTS KICK OFF
THE festive season has hit the Mt Druitt and St Marys region with dozens of Christmas-themed events popping up in the area.
Ropes Crossing will kick off the silly season with Christmas carols in the park (in the Village Green) from 6pm this Friday night.
In fact, the whole month of December will see plenty of activities sure to please the whole family including, carols, Christmas tree lightings, and plenty of visits from Santa at St Marys Town Centre, Willmot, Westfield Mt Druitt and more.
St Marys will host its annual Christmas tree lighting in Coachmans Park on Friday, December 11.
Residents can also enjoy a visit from Santa on the night as well as a jumping castle, Christmas bauble making and even learning how to prepare a tasty snack for Santa and his reindeers. Blacktown Mayor Stephen Bali wished residents a happy and safe Christmas.
“We, as a community, faced many challenges throughout 2015 and I believe we have grown together to be a stronger community that is respectful and supportive of each of other’s needs,” Cr Bali said
Penrith Mayor Karen McKeown also wished the community a safe and happy holiday season.
“As 2015 draws to a close, I’d like to wish you and your family a safe and happy Christmas,” she said.
“Council is leading many exciting projects.”

Santa is always a big hit at the St Marys Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
