TAFE’S Diploma of Lo­gis­tics is a great foun­da­tion for a ca­reer in this broad in­dus­try.

The course com­prises 15 sub­jects cov­er­ing top­ics such as man­ag­ing a sup­ply chain, man­ag­ing sup­pli­ers, es­tab­lish­ing in­ter­na­tional dis­tri­bu­tion net­works, risk man­age­ment, project and con­tract man­age­ment.

The as­sign­ments for the course are based on the work­place, to en­able stu­dents to re­late the­ory learnt in class with a real-life work en­vi­ron­ment.

The course is aimed at peo­ple want­ing to work as man­agers in lo­gis­tics and the sup­ply chain man­age­ment in­dus­try. The Diploma of Lo­gis­tics is a one-year course which runs over two semesters. Classes are run on the main cam­pus of St Ge­orge Col­lege from 69pm, twice a week. Visit syd­neytafe.edu.au

The TAFE course helps pre­pare stu­dents for roles such as ware­house and dis­tri­bu­tion cen­tre man­ager, trans­port man­ager, lo­gis­tics man­ager, pur­chas­ing and sup­ply man­ager, con­tracts man­ager and oper­a­tions man­ager.

Peo­ple in this in­dus­try need to have an eye for de­tail and the abil­ity to pro­vide ef­fec­tive so­lu­tions in a fast chang­ing en­vi­ron­ment.
