SHE has been dubbed St Clair’s Mrs Claus, transforming her front yard every December.

Mona Halabi and husband Sayed have been treating families to their extravagant Christmas light display for more than 20 years.

“We are like little kids at Christmas, we love it and we love it more when we see the faces of the kids and families when they visit us,” Mrs Halabi said.

Putting up their display often takes weeks, but two years ago setting it up got a little bit harder as Mrs Halabi broke her back and was later diagnosed with breast cancer.

Despite her health issues, Mrs Halabi hasn’t missed a single Christmas and this year is using her display to raise funds for the Kids Cancer Foundation.

“I was in hospital up until Christmas Day last year but it didn’t stop me, it was very difficult but I still got the entire display up,” Mrs Halabi said.

Residents can visit the Halabi’s Christmas display at 33 The Grandstand, St Clair, every night from 8pm.
