IF YOU like a dash of SpongeBob with your backhand, head to the Kids Tennis Day at the Apia International Sydney next month.

Presented by Nickelodeon, Kids Tennis Day on January 10 is a fun-filled event that gives families a chance to share in the excite- ment of the Apia International Sydney tennis tournament and to give tennis a try.

The tournament is at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre from January 11 to 17.

The APIA International Kids Day runs from 9am and offers children the opportunity to give tennis a try in a fun environment with modified courts, modified racquets and modified balls.

There will be celebrity tennis matches and the chance to experience tennis with ANZ Tennis Hot Shots.

The Lawn, a new feature of the tournament, will be filled with activities and games from Sydney sporting clubs, as well as Hit the Target and Speed Serve.

Nickelodeon favourites will be there, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer.

The best part about the day is that it is free for children under 16 when accompanied by a paying adult.

Tickets for the day start at $15 and can be bought at the door or through Ticketek.

Details and tickets are at apiainternational.com.au and ticketek.com.au.
