Pet owners should protect their animals during the holiday season. The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) is advising owners to think ahead. AVA president Dr Robert Johnson said: “Many holiday plants can be toxic to your pet including holly, mistletoe, Christmas tree pine needles and lilies.” Signs of toxicity include vomiting, diarrhoea, tremors, seizures, drooling, loss of appetite, depression and increased heart rate.
