Not an emergency

Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - FEEDBACK -

RE: “Hospital figures concern,” ( Mt Druitt-St Marys Standard, November 9).

(The) majority (of people) go there for a paper cut, or a broken nail. They are not emergency cases. I was there (at Mt Druitt Hospital) on Sunday night with my 20-month-old son, with temperatures of 39C+ after taking Nurofen and Panadol. We were in and out in an hour and a bit. While in the waiting room, a couple came in laughing while she was holding a tissue to the top of her ear.

The top of your ear bleeding isn’t an emergency. So you deserve to wait four hours.
