ROOTY Hill transformed into a real-life Bethlehem with camels and donkeys appearing at St Agnes Catholic High School’s Christmas production this year.

More than 900 guests watched on as three camels walked up on to the school grounds during the production.

St Agnes’ Religious Educa- tion co-ordinator Julie Atkins said the animals were a way of bringing the true message of Christmas to the students.

“The look of disbelief on the kids’ faces when they see the camels is phenomenal, they really become involved in the story,” Ms Atkins said.

“The production was held on a 40C day, so the production felt like a real-life desert this year.”

School spokeswomen Annette O’Keeffe said everyone looked forward to the day each year. “The kids are just so talented, how much time and effort they put in is amazing,”
