Police are appealing for public help after a car was found alight in Colyton on Wednesday morning. Just before 1.30am, emergency services were called to Sykes Place but when Fire and Rescue NSW crews arrived, the Holden Commodore sedan was already completely engulfed by flames. Ten residents inside the home opposite the car, as well as several nearby neighbours, were evacuated as a precaution. St Marys police established a crime scene. Initial inquiries suggest the fire was deliberately lit. As investigations continue, police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward.
A Tregear man, 25, has been charged with driving while unlicensed. About 3.50pm on December 10, the man was allegedly driving his vehicle on Bougainville Rd at Lethbridge Park when he was stopped by police for a random breath test. Police asked the 25-yearold to produce his driver’s licence before he allegedly informed the officers he didn’t have one. Checks conducted at the scene confirmed the Tregear man had never held a driver’s licence. The man returned a negative result for alcohol.
MARYS A 66-year-old Colyton man has been charged with wilful and obscene exposure in/near a public place after he allegedly exposed himself at a St Marys bus stop. About 5pm on December 12, a 23-year-old woman was at a bus terminal with her two young children, aged nearly four and five months. It is alleged the man threw items on the road, where the bus was to stop, before exposing himself and urinating on the ground in front of the woman, her children and others waiting at the terminal. He will face Penrith Court on January 7.
CLAIR A 29-year-old man has been charged with mid-range drink-driving after being stopped for a random breath test at St Clair on December 12. About 2.40am, the Dora Creek man was stopped on the M4 Roper Rd off ramp where he was breath tested and allegedly returned a positive result. The driver was taken to St Marys police station where he underwent further testing and allegedly returned a reading of 0.061. He will face Penrith Court in January.
Police are investigating after a 23-year-old man was stabbed at Colyton. About 6.45pm on December 8, emergency services responded to reports that a man had been stabbed on Leonard St. Officers found a man with a stab wound to his side. He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition. A crime scene was established and an investigation is underway. Mt Druitt police have arrested a 29year-old Kemps Creek man for allegedly possessing the prohibited drug ice. About 5.30pm on December 11, police stopped the man on Andover Crescent at Hebersham. Police searched the man and allegedly found drugs believed to be methylamphetamine. The man will face Mt Druitt Court at a later date.
