AS TEMPERATURES soar this summer, volunteer firefighters are needed more than ever.
Residents are being urged to dig deep at a special fundraiser to support the Rural Fire Service on Saturday, January 23.
Bunnings at Minchinbury will be raising funds for the RFS through its annual Aussie Day weekend fundraiser barbecue.
Mt Druitt and St Marys residents are invited to celebrate Australia Day and support the RFS by heading to Bunnings between 9am and 4pm, to buy a snag or make a donation. Team members will be running sausage sizzles with support from volunteers.
NSW RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons thanked the community for its support. “Every day our 74,000 members are working to help protect the community from bushfires, and this Australia Day will be no different,” Mr Fitzsimmons said.
Bunnings Warehouse Minchinbury is on the corner of John Hines Ave and Great Western Highway.
