Drivers urged to take care
POLICE charged 255 people for drink-driving and breath-tested 130,402 motorists in the North West Metropolitan area during Operation Arrive Alive.
Regional traffic tactician Martin Searle urged drivers to take more care.
“Three of last year’s fatalities occurred between New Year and Australia Day,” he said.
“This is the time for motorists to be even more vigilant and to take greater care on our roads during the school holiday period.”
