Have a say on planned road­works

MT DRUITT res­i­dents are be­ing en­cour­aged to have their say on pro­posed road­works at Plump­ton.

Roads and Mar­itime Ser­vices have pro­posed the works to im­prove the in­ter­sec­tion of Rooty Hill Rd North, near Jersey Rd and Lamb St.

An RMS spokesman said the pro­posed im­prove­ments aimed to main­tain travel times on Syd­ney’s ma­jor roads, par­tic­u­larly dur­ing week­day peak pe­ri­ods.

“The NSW Govern­ment is com­mit­ted to im­prov­ing traf­fic flow and the road net­work,” the spokesman said.

“The pro­posal is part of planned cor­ri­dor im­prove­ments on Rooty Hill Rd be­tween the Great Western High­way, East­ern Creek and Rich­mond Rd, Oakhurst.

“Work at the in­ter­sec­tion in­cludes re­mov­ing the ex­ist­ing round­about and in­stalling traf­fic lights with pedes­trian cross­ings, pro­vid­ing ded­i­cated turn­ing lanes, widen­ing Rooty Hill Rd North near the in­ter­sec­tion and in­stalling CCTV cam­eras to mon­i­tor traf­fic.”

In­ter­ested res­i­dents are in­vited to give their opin­ions on the pro­posed in­ter­sec­tion im­prove­ments un­til Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 12.
