Two men were charged af­ter po­lice al­legedly dis­cov­ered drugs and cash at homes in Plump­ton. About 5pm on Thurs­day, po­lice, the Dog Unit and Pub­lic Or­der Riot Squad ex­e­cuted a search war­rant at homes on Myra St and Sanc­tu­ary Park Drive, and dur­ing both searches al­legedly found cannabis plants, cannabis leaf, cash, co­caine, and mem­o­ra­bilia items be­lieved to be the pro­ceeds of crime, es­ti­mated to be worth more than $100,000.

SHANES PARK Two men es­caped un­in­jured af­ter they crashed their car into a creek at Shanes Park af­ter a high-speed po­lice chase on Fri­day. Just af­ter 12.30am, po­lice at­tempted to stop a Holden Com­modore trav­el­ling north along Lux­ford Rd, in Whalan. The Com­modore al­legedly failed to stop and po­lice chased it through Leth­bridge Park and Shanes Park. The Holden then crashed into a creek off Stoney Creek Rd. The un­in­jured 23-year-old male driver and his 28-year-old male pas­sen­ger were helped out of the ve­hi­cle. Both men were ar­rested at the scene and taken to Mt Druitt Po­lice Sta­tion. The younger man was charged with po­lice pur­suit (Skye’s law) and ex­ceed­ing speed over 45km/h. The 28year-old was charged with breach­ing bail and ap­peared at Mt Druitt Lo­cal Court on Fri­day.

MT DRUITT Two men are on the run af­ter an armed rob­bery of a bak­ery in Mt Druitt yes­ter­day. About 3am, the men en­tered a Mt Druitt Rd bak­ery armed with a firearm and knife. They ap­proached the two bak­ers and de­manded money be­fore leav­ing the store. One of the men was de­scribed as be­ing cau­casian, about 160cm tall, with a skinny build, and wear­ing a blue jacket, black shorts and a black cloth around his head. The other was de­scribed as be­ing Abo­rig­i­nal, about 150cm tall, with a skinny build and black beard, and wear­ing a black jacket and black pants.

MT DRUITT A handbag was stolen from a store in Mt Druitt on Fri­day. About 3.50pm, an em­ployee, 25, was work­ing in a cloth­ing store when an un­known per­son en­tered and re­moved the woman’s handbag from be­hind the ser­vice counter.

MT DRUITT Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing an at­tempted rob­bery of a car at Mt Druitt on Sun­day. About 7.25am, a fe­male coffee shop em­ployee, 20, parked her ve­hi­cle within the West­field carpark and waited for her man­ager to open the store. She saw a man ap­proach­ing her car and ac­ti­vated the cen­tral lock­ing sys­tem. The man de­manded money as he at­tempted to open the doors. A cleaner wit­nessed the in­ci­dent and con­tacted se­cu­rity as the man ran from the area. The man was de­scribed as Abo­rig­i­nal, in his late 30s to early 40s, and wear­ing a dark-coloured hooded jumper.

WHALAN A male, 17, will face court af­ter be­ing caught driv­ing while dis­qual­i­fied in Whalan. About 10.55pm on Sun­day, the teenager was driv­ing his ve­hi­cle down Wood­stock Ave, when he was stopped by po­lice and sub­jected to a ran­dom breath test, which re­turned a neg­a­tive re­sult. Po­lice con­ducted checks at the scene, where it was found the teen’s driver’s li­cence was in a pe­riod of dis­qual­i­fi­ca­tion un­til 2020.

ST MARYS Po­lice are urg­ing wit­nesses to come for­ward af­ter a mail­box was set alight in St Marys. Be­tween 7pm on Fri­day and 6.45pm on Sun­day, un­known of­fend­ers have used an ac­cel­er­ant to set alight the mail in the mail­box on Mon­farville St. The mail in­side and the box were de­stroyed.
