Walk Right In and show class

PAUL Perry, renowned as a trainer of juveniles, could have another potential Golden Slipper contender in emerging youngster Walk Right In.

It is a long way from wins at Newcastle and Scone but Walk Right In looks well above average and has a chance to demonstrate his talents in the $250,000 Inglis Classic (1200m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Prizemoney earned out of the Inglis Classic doesn’t count towards qualification for the Golden Slipper but Saturday’s race will give Perry a better indication of how his colt measures up.

SYDNEY’S first Group 1 race of 2016, the $600,000 Chipping Norton Stakes, has had a venue switch from its traditional home. The 1600m weight-for-age race will be run at Royal Randwick on February 27 due to construction at Warwick Farm.

MY tip for the Royal Randwick meeting this weekend is to follow the in-form Peter and Paul Snowden stable.
