Comets get new-look field
ERSKINE Park’s Peppertree Park has undergone a makeover after the State Government granted the grounds a $30,000 upgrade.
The St Clair Comets welcomed changes to their home ground as the area was becoming hazardous to players.
Mulgoa state Liberal MP Tanya Davies said the rugby league club had purchased large sandstone blocks to line the field and prevent further flooding.
Long-serving club secretary Bill Borg said rain and flooding were causing huge problems on the field.
“Every time we had heavy rain, it would cause problems for us. Dirt and loose soil would be all across the playing surfaces, placing players in dangerous positions,” Mr Borg said.
“Now, we cannot get over how much better the fields will be. Not to mention how great they look and the extra seating they provide for parents and family.”
