THE students at Mt Druitt Public School rubbed shoulders with some of Sydney’s AFL stars when the Greater Western Sydney Giants dropped in last week.

Giants by name and nature, Adam Kennedy, Caleb Marchbank and Tom Downie towered over the students while giving an inspiring talk about hard work and dedication.

Giants defender Adam Kennedy said the visits were a way to give something back to their fans.

“It’s very important to hold clinics in western Sydney because that’s where our fan base is and it’s our best way of giving something back to supporters who put a lot of faith in us,” Kennedy said.

“We used our experiences and spoke to kids about the importance of respect and commitment and hopefully they were able to take something away.”

Sparking much debate, Year 5 student Aneesh Chakravathula asked the players, “Other than sport what else were you good at school?”, with all three replying maths was their favourite subject.

Kennedy said the question time was really fun.

“The kids were awesome at Mt Druitt Public School and really listened to what we had to say.” he said.
