RUBBISH IDEA REAPS REWARDS
JASON White set out with one goal on Clean Up Australia Day – to beautify Bidwill.
The Chifley College deputy principal teamed up with Bidwill Uniting Church and, armed with gloves and bags, cleaned up the suburb bit by bit.
The group picked up more than 25 bags of rubbish, including 300 drink bottles and even a shopping trolley that had been converted into a go-kart.
Mr White said it was great to see so many people taking pride in the community.
“I was pleasantly surprised this year; the amount of rubbish had been far worse in previous years,” he said.
“There are so many amazing things happening here, people tend to focus on the bad things but that is s not the real Bidwill.”
