St Marys ticks affordability, convenience
LOKESH Dodda is just days away from settling on a twobedroom unit at St Marys for $413,500.
The 34-year-old security guard said a lot of factors influenced his decision to buy his first home in the area, but the main reason was affordability.
“I can only get a loan approved for a certain amount, and for what I wanted the areas I could afford to buy in were St Marys, Mt Druitt, Werrington and Kingswood,” Mr Dodda said.
He said the proximity to shops, schools and childcare in Putland St at St Marys really appealed to him, as he plans for the future with his girlfriend.
“If I do end up having one or two kids it will suit our needs,” Mr Dodda said.
“I could buy a unit in Harris Park where I live now, but for the price the unit would be around 15 years old.
“The St Marys unit is around four-and-a-half years old so it is still covered by the builder’s warranty.”
He said his new unit had two bathrooms, gas appliances and was move-in ready.
“The only thing I would change, and it’s just personal preference, is to get rid of the carpet and have timber floors,” Mr Dodda said.
