Book Bonus to help boost school re­sources

STU­DENTS par­tic­i­pat­ing in the NSW Premier’s Read­ing Chal­lenge can se­cure qual­ity new books for their school and help other schools in need by join­ing the Book Bonus.

The on­line rea­dathon is di­rectly linked to the chal­lenge, and pro­vides stu­dents with a safe and se­cure op­por­tu­nity to seek spon­sor­ship from fam­ily and friends for the books they read.

Book Bonus is a fundrais­ing partnership be­tween schools and Dy­mocks Chil­dren’s Char­i­ties.

All money raised will go to­ward pro­vid­ing books for the par­tic­i­pat­ing stu­dent’s school and schools in need through­out NSW.

Dy­mocks Chil­dren’s Char­i­ties is a non-profit or­gan­i­sa­tion pro­vid­ing high­qual­ity books to ed­u­ca­tion providers in pri­or­ity ar­eas, to im­prove lit­er­acy out­comes for stu­dents.

At the end of the Premier’s Read­ing Chal­lenge, schools and award-win­ning stu­dents se­lect their books.

Al­most 30 stu­dents statewide have signed up so far, with al­most $2000 raised since the chal­lenge started on March 7.

The chal­lenge will run un­til Au­gust 26, and stu­dents can join the Book Bonus in teams or as in­di­vid­u­als.
