New trolleys to assist kids
NEW supermarket trolleys are being rolled out at Coles in Mt Druitt and St Marys, to help parents and carers of children with disabilities.
The trolleys are the result of three years of research by the supermarket giant to design and manufacture a trolley that can provide more support for parents and carers.
The trolley allows for a child of up to 70kg, and has padding on the sides, a harness and additional support in its structure.
Coles spokesman Andy Coleman said it had received positive feedback from its customers about the trolleys.
“We want to help our customers to shop easily at our stores. The trolley ensures that parents and carers no longer need to juggle a wheelchair and shopping basket during their shop at Coles,” Mr Coleman said.
“It means they are able to place all their groceries in a trolley while also having their child seated safely.”
The additional-needs trolley is available from the customer service desk.
