Don’t bag area, things are getting better
I OWN a business in Queen St, St Marys, and I’m very sad to hear all the negative talk about what is happening to Queen St (“Work halt hurts local businesses”, The Standard, July 20).
Yes, the work has stopped for the time being and, yes, the trees are gone, but we are getting new trees and new planter boxes.
There also are new lights to make it brighter, new cameras to keep us safe and there is plenty of parking at the back of the shops.
We have new food places opened up and we are trying to get new business in Queen St.
I myself am still busy — business has been great. Shops will be painted in time.
There are junkies at every shopping centre, so instead of rubbishing St Marys how about you come and help the shop owners by doing your shopping here?
