WORLD AT HER FEET
MEET the 10-year-old football star kicking the competition out of the park. Taking on boys and girls two years her senior, St Clair’s Ella Abdul Massih has gone from strength to strength since she began playing.
Ella started playing football only four years ago.
Last year, the youngster represented the state in the Futsal National Club Championship and was named NSW’s most valuable player in the grand final.
This year has been even bigger for Ella.
She is over the moon to be selected to represent Australia with the Australian Futsal Institute in Spain early next year.
Ella was nominated as this week’s Junior Sports Star by her mother, Skye Abdul Massih.
Mrs Abdul Massih said her daughter’s dedication to sport was “incredible”.
“Ella trains a minimum of four nights a week and as much as six nights at times – on top of playing two games on the weekend,” Mrs Abdul Massih said.
Ella told The Standard her dream was to become the youngest player to represent Australia with the Matildas open women’s team.
“Ella is very passionate about soccer and futsal,” Mrs Abdul Massih said.
“She puts a lot of time and dedication into achieving her goal.”
