A Whalan man was assaulted and robbed in St Marys on Thursday. About 1pm a 24-year-old Willmot woman and a Whalan man, 43, were walking in Forrester Rd when a silver Subaru Forester stopped next to them. The couple allege a male person jumped from the car and punched the man several times before demanding money. He then grabbed the woman’s handbag and hit her in the face before running off. The man is described as caucasian in his mid-30s, wearing a black singlet, black pants and joggers. He had a bald head with blonde shaved hair on the sides. 2 ST MARYS
Last Thursday police and Roads and Maritime Services inspectors intercepted a wayward B-double driver. It is alleged the driver became lost and drove along Queen St before coming to a stop in the bus interchange. The driver will be charged for a number of heavy vehicle offences including being off route (non B-double route), incomplete work diary (30-plus offences), fatigue and defective vehicle. He will appear in Penrith Local Court next month.
Police are investigating the theft of property from a car early on Monday morning. About midnight the vehicle was parked in a driveway in Clem Place when an unknown person gained entry and stole a purse and other personal items. A 27-year-old woman discovered the break-in and theft the next morning. Police are reviewing CCTV footage of the incident. 4 ROPES CROSSING
Police arrested a 21year-old intoxicated woman at Ropes Crossing on Saturday. About 5pm police were called to a Rafter Pde address after receiving reports of an intoxicated woman yelling in the street. Police arrived and spoke to the Strathfield woman before contacting an ambulance after concerns she was under the influence of a drug. The woman was conveyed to Nepean Hospital under police escort.
Police have arrested a 44-year-old Bidwill man for abusive behaviour on Sunday night. The man was said to be standing in the street and yelling, swearing and calling out to passing people to fight him. Police attended a short time later and the man continued to yell at them. He was detained at Mt Druitt police station and was released some time later. The man will be issued with a Criminal Infringement Notice in relation to the incident.
