FROM football stars to creepy crawlies and everything in between, Emerton Leisure Centre’s 10th birthday bash has something for everyone.

To celebrate its anniversary, the centre will host a free family fun day with a range of activities, from basketball to rock climbing and even a crocodile encounter.

Wanderers FC fans are also in for a treat, with the football club running sports clinics throughout the day. The centre has come a long way since it opened in 2006.

It now offers a full range of group fitness and learnto-swim classes for all ages and abilities, all of which will be on offer on the day.

It wouldn’t be a true birthday celebration without a cake, and Blacktown Mayor Stephen Bali has been given the honour of cutting it at 12.30pm

If cake isn’t enough to satisfy your hunger, there will also be a sausage sizzle and barbecue on offer

Mr Bali said the day was the perfect way to celebrate the local community.

“Emerton Leisure Centre is a fantastic asset for the community,” Cr Bali said.

“It has now been serving the 2770 postcode for a decade.

“I encourage everyone in the community to come along to the day.

“Come along and see or rediscover what Emerton Leisure Centre has on offer and celebrate this milestone with us.”
