WET weather may have damped their mini Olympics but it didn’t dampen the spirits of the students at Glendenning Public School.

Students dressed up in the traditional dress of their own cultures and paraded around the school to promote the spirit of the Olympics.

Rain forced the cancellation of many of the outdoor Olympic events, but parents were still able to enjoy indoor performances by the students.

Teacher Poonam Suri said the day was a success.

“It was a shame we had to cancel the Olympathon, but we did have parents visit classrooms and watch the performances in the hall,” Mrs Suri said.

She said every culture was represented.

“We have a very multicultural school here; it was a great day. The parents absolutely loved it,” she said.
