Doug Parkinson ready to perform a tribute to the legendary Joe Cocker with show featuring ultimate hits
AUSTRALIA’S greatest soul voice Doug Parkinson is bringing the ultimate tribute to American soul legend, Joe Cocker, to Western Sydney this weekend.
Parkinson will be hitting the stage at Rooty Hill RSL along with his eight-piece band to perform some of the English soul artist’s most famous songs.
Audiences can expect to hear all their favourite Joe Cocker songs and tributes including Hitchcock Railway, Delta Lady, You Are So Beautiful, Up Where We Belong and Cry Me A River, just to name a few.
With Parkinson’s undeniable talent, there could not be a more appropriate singer to showcase Cocker, with the Australian often described as exciting, passionate and also a master of interpreting others’ songs.
A multi-award winning vocalist himself, Parkinson has performed all over the world and in a variety of box office hit musicals.
As well as performing the Joe Cocker tribute, a highlight of the show includes Parkinson’s own hit records, including the masterful and iconic classic hit record Dear Prudence.
But the show doesn't stop there: soul fans are also in for a treat with legendary artists Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Michael McDonald, the Beatles and The Great American Song Book also featured during the performance.
