TAP INTO FAMILY’S CREATIVE SPARK
Read along, create your own stories and spark your children’s interest in art at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Sunday Family Fun Day. The day will feature two story time sessions with an Auslan interpreter available. Participants will be encouraged to use their own imagination to create their own stories. After the storytelling sessions, families will be given a sketch card that will allow them to explore the art of storytelling and bring their own ideas to life. The day will also feature a hands-on art-making session at the gallery’s creative studios, where the finishing touches can be put on stories. While there, why not take a walk through the museum’s Telling Tales exhibit, which explores entirely new ways of creating and displaying stories, including light, fog, video and print. The centre accepts a $5 donation from each family attending the fun day to go towards running future family centred events.
