Read along, cre­ate your own sto­ries and spark your chil­dren’s in­ter­est in art at the Mu­seum of Con­tem­po­rary Art’s Sun­day Fam­ily Fun Day. The day will fea­ture two story time ses­sions with an Aus­lan in­ter­preter avail­able. Par­tic­i­pants will be en­cour­aged to use their own imag­i­na­tion to cre­ate their own sto­ries. Af­ter the sto­ry­telling ses­sions, fam­i­lies will be given a sketch card that will al­low them to ex­plore the art of sto­ry­telling and bring their own ideas to life. The day will also fea­ture a hands-on art-mak­ing ses­sion at the gallery’s cre­ative stu­dios, where the fin­ish­ing touches can be put on sto­ries. While there, why not take a walk through the mu­seum’s Telling Tales ex­hibit, which ex­plores en­tirely new ways of cre­at­ing and dis­play­ing sto­ries, in­clud­ing light, fog, video and print. The cen­tre ac­cepts a $5 do­na­tion from each fam­ily at­tend­ing the fun day to go to­wards run­ning fu­ture fam­ily cen­tred events.
