BLACK­TOWN Mayor Stephen Bali made a point of “re­con­nect­ing” with his Mt Druitt con­stituents last Thurs­day.

In be­tween a busy sched­ule, Cr Bali chat­ted with shop­keep­ers at a Mt Druitt Rd newsagent, real es­tate and phar­macy be­fore at­tend­ing the Mt Druitt Cham­ber of Com­merce meet­ing.

Cr Bali said he en­joyed meet­ing the peo­ple and get­ting a feel for what they needed in Mt Druitt.

“I be­lieve in ac­tu­ally get­ting out there and con­sult­ing the com­mu­nity,” Cr Bali said. “Peo­ple need to know who their mayor is.”

Cham­ber of Com­merce pres­i­dent Reg Mur­ray said the mayor had done a good job look­ing af­ter his com­mu­nity. “He’s been very help­ful,” Mr Mur­ray said. “He’s done a great job and all the peo­ple he met were pleased to see him. I think it went well.”
