A PETITION encouraging people to “Say NO to the world’s biggest incinerator at Eastern Creek” is circulating on

Local woman Lesley Watson initiated the online campaign and has promised the signatures will be delivered to Blacktown Mayor Stephen Bali and NSW Planning Minister Rob Stokes.

While Blacktown Council has been vocal in its opposition to the development, the ultimate decision on whether the incinerator will go ahead is up to the Planning Department.

The petition points out the incinerator will operate 24 hours, seven days a week, and accept waste from industries around NSW, raising potential health risks.

Penrith Cr Maurice Girotto voiced his concerns about the proposed incinerator recently.
