IN­QUIRY INTO BLAZE AT HOUSE

POLICE are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a fire that caused sig­nif­i­cant dam­age to a va­cant house at Oakhurst in the early hours of Mon­day morn­ing.

About 1.45am, emer­gency ser­vices were called to Dutch Place, where they found the house well alight.

Of­fi­cers from Fire & Res­cue NSW worked quickly to ex­tin­guish the blaze.

They man­aged to con­tain it to the main site.

There was only mi­nor dam­age to neigh­bour­ing prop­er­ties.

Mt Druitt police have been told the prop­erty had been va­cant for some months.

A crime scene was es­tab­lished, and police have started an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the in­ci­dent.

The fire is be­ing treated as sus­pi­cious un­til the cause can be de­ter­mined.
