Lowles went above and beyond in role

Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - YOUR SAY -

I RESPOND to the article in The Standard, August 24: “Lowles to pass on the baton”.

Hats off to Charlie Lowles, Labor councillor for ward five and six times the mayor of Blacktown.

I remember Cr Lowles and Danny Mackin, now deceased, appearing in The Standard almost on a weekly basis in their resolve to make Mt Druitt a better place.

But more than that, I remember Charlie on the front page of The

Standard going beyond the domain of his normal duties and standing up for Mt Druitt Hospital from losing its emergency surgery when other local politicians sat on their hands.

When, and if, our hospital gets its emergency surgery back we can say Charlie Lowles had a hand in it and recognition where it is due.
