Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - NEWS -

BIG bands and high drama were all part of Grammy award winning singer and Oscar-nominated actor Bobby Darin’s life.

The ’50s icon was behind some of the decade’s greatest hits including Beyond the Sea and Mack the Knife and is the inspiration for new Australian musical Dream Lover – The Bobby Darin Musical.

The musical will bring Darin’s exciting but tragic life to audiences with the world premiere in Sydney.

It will star David Campbell, TV’s Today Extra host, and Hannah Fredericksen, who played Olivia Newton John in the miniseries Molly.

There are also three young actors who will play Darin as a child, when he was recognised as a truly great musical prodigy.
