Greed takes over and locals suffer

Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - YOUR SAY -

WOW “developers and council excited” (“Transformation on the drawing board”, The Standard, September 7).

Of course they are, all they see are $$$ signs — let’s shove some more people into St Marys.

No play space, no parking space, no space at all — rezone parks for high rise buildings.

The shame of it all is these developers all live overseas; they don’t care what sort of a dump the country becomes.

Let’s sell sell sell Australia. Liberal or Labor, you all do the same.

We are on a downward spiral and all the clowns that are voted in will do nothing to save our country.

At council meetings if developments are challenged the response is: “the developers contacted me and want to know what the holdup is — we should have approved these developments ages ago. This developer has many projects in Penrith and wants to know why we have not approved their applications.”

I always thought that councillors represented the ratepayer (their employers), however, it would appear the mighty dollar sign always wins. Shame, shame, shame. The fiasco with the Queen St shambles should send warning signs to all ratepayers: these people control the suburb you live in — be afraid, be very afraid.
