CHIFLEY federal Labor MP Ed Husic has paid tribute in Parliament to former longstanding Blacktown councillor Charlie Lowles.

Mr Husic described Mr Lowles, who stepped down from council at the last election after 27 years of service, as one of the region’s “great volunteers”.

“His public service will be remembered for generations and is a huge legacy to live up to,” Mr Husic said.

“His lasting contribution is a monument to his stamina, decency and good will.”
