Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - YOUR SAY -

HOW is it the perfect place for an airport? It’s in a ditch, fog sometimes doesn’t clear till 11am which will put constant delays to flights, there is no infrastructure there, no one is going to want to catch a cab into the city from there, even on a train it’ll take ages to get into the CBD. It’s a ridiculous place to put an airport. Especially when Kingsford Smith is currently running at 60-70 per cent capacity. Have they even found anyone willing to build and fund the airport which will most likely turn into a white elephant? Trent Byrne, via Facebook

ARE you kidding? Macquarie Airports Corporation is rubbing its hands together to add to their airport monopoly with a PPP (Public Private Partnerships) investment with the state and federal governments. That way they can charge an average of $90 per hour for parking and retailers overpriced rents who then will pass that on to consumers by way of $23 sandwiches and $10 coffees. And you can double those amounts by the time Badgerys Creek airport is completed. Sean Grant, via Facebook
