CLOWN TERROR NO LAUGHING MATTER

Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - NEWS - Vera Bertola

THE tide has turned on the clown craze – instead of the clowns causing havoc in the community, they have become the hunted.

Clown Hunters, a social media page believed to have been started in the Mt Druitt area, warns clowns to “be aware”.

“People here will not play fair,” it says.

In recent days, clowns have been sighted in Mt Druitt, Shalvey, Colyton and Emerton.

Though these sightings are becoming rarer as the fad dies down.

St Marys local area command crime manager Inspector Barry Vincent said there only had been a few reports of people dressed as clowns.

“If people are going out with the intention of intimidation or to threaten ... they could end up before the courts,” he said. “There is the potential people respond to these threats, and they could put themselves at risk of legal action.” Clown chase: mtdru ittstandard.com.au
